About DC Spotter
A clearer view of Europe's data centre pipeline.
DC Spotter is an independent research brand based in Frankfurt, Germany. We bring public records and project developments together to make Europe's digital infrastructure easier to follow.
Our mission
Data centre projects leave a public trail before they become operating infrastructure: a land transaction, a planning application, an environmental procedure or a published grid connection decision. Our aim is to make that trail visible, connect it to the relevant project and explain what the evidence actually establishes.
A proposed campus is different from an approved development. A power allocation is different from an energised connection. Keeping those distinctions clear is central to our research.
Research grounded in public sources
Our source base includes planning and environmental registers, land records, grid operator publications, public procurement notices, company announcements and publicly available reporting. Project pages link to sources so readers can examine the original material.
We distinguish reported information, evidence-supported fields and values that remain unconfirmed. Where the public record does not support a stable figure or status, we leave the uncertainty visible.
Read our methodology and sources for more about how to interpret the records.
What the current site offers
The public beta brings project records, interactive maps, source-linked signals and market views into one place. It is free to explore while we develop the platform. The research date appears in the footer; coverage grows as we add and review sources.
Capacity figures need context. Site IT load, campus power, grid connection capacity and a developer's portfolio target are different measures. A known figure for one project should not be treated as a complete market total.
