Scope and contact

This notice covers dcspotter.com and enquiries sent to DC Spotter. Our website contact is [email protected], Frankfurt am Main, Germany. For the separate LinkedIn publishing application, see the DC Spotter Publisher privacy notice.

Website delivery and security

The site is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare. Website requests involve technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, request time, browser information and referring page where supplied. This information is used to deliver pages, maintain availability and protect the service. The basis is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Read Cloudflare's privacy policy for its handling of technical visitor data and security services.

When you contact us

If you email us, we process your email address, message and any information or attachments you choose to send, to respond and handle your enquiry. Mail delivery providers process messages for routing and delivery. Contract-related enquiries are handled under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; other enquiries are handled under our legitimate interest in responding under Article 6(1)(f). Please send only the information needed for your request.

Maps, imagery and other external resources

Some pages load map tiles, satellite imagery, website icons or software resources from external services. Your browser contacts those services directly, which can disclose your IP address, browser information and the requested resource. These services include OpenStreetMap, Esri ArcGIS, CARTO map tiles through Fastly, Google favicon services and the unpkg software CDN.

These resources support the site's map and project presentation. Their providers have their own data-handling practices. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation, Esri, CARTO and Google privacy information, and unpkg service information.

Cookies and analytics

The current website does not include advertising pixels, behavioural analytics scripts or visitor account features in its own code. Hosting and security services may use technical cookies or similar measures where needed for their operation. External resource providers may handle requests under their own policies. We do not sell visitor enquiry information or use it to build advertising profiles.

Retention and international processing

Enquiry information is retained for as long as needed to address the request, follow up on the matter or meet applicable record-keeping duties. Technical data retention depends on the hosting and service providers' processing settings and security requirements.

Providers operate internationally and may process information outside the European Economic Area. Their privacy notices explain processing locations and transfer safeguards. Cloudflare also publishes its data processing addendum. Contact us if you need more information about a particular service or enquiry.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, it can be withdrawn. These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions. Send requests to [email protected].

You can complain to a data protection authority, including the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, or the authority where you live or work.

Published research and external links

Project research refers to publicly available records. If a record includes information about you that needs correction or review, email us with the page address and relevant details. Following a source or LinkedIn link takes you to a separate website with its own privacy practices.
